So Excited!

My very first design for sale at Minted! My "Easter Chick" design was chosen as an Editor's Pick in the most recent design challenge and, since Easter is right around the corner, Minted decided to launch 25 designs right away.
Not only am I still in shock that I won but my design is on the front page!

Beautiful Day

I am so absolutely-grateful for the mom's in my life.  Of course for my own mom, who taught me about being myself and following my heart.  And for my mother-in-law, who raised a truly amazing son who is compassionate, affectionate, caring & hard-working.

I am even more grateful that I have had the chance to become a mother, myself.  Those sweet little faces make me want to be better than my best every day.  As cliche' as it is, I can't imagine my life without them and without the journey of motherhood.

Happy Mother's Day!

just one more bite...

I think I'm in love.

The kids are napping and D's, well, he's napping too.  I'm just trying to enjoy a little quiet time but can't seem to ignore this urge to polish off the last of the Marionberry Pudding Cake that D brought home from the store.

I think I single-handedly ate more than half of it in the last 18 hours.  And if there were more, I would eat that too!

Not being a cake fan {at.all}, I had my reservations about this non-cake pudding cake.  I don't even prefer berries.  In fact, if it were me at the grocery store choosing a dessert, I probably would've looked for something with the darkest, richest chocolate I could find.  Like a mousse.  Or maybe a cheesecake.  Mmmm, I love cheesecake.

Anyway, this cake is one of the best tasting creations I have ever tasted and I'm on a mission to find my own recipe.  If YOU have a perfect pudding cake recipe, will you let me know?  It is perfectly moist, filled with sweet berries and topped with a "to-die-for" glaze.

ready or not...

...heeere I come!!!

I'm loving that the kids are finally both able to understand the concept of hide-&-seek...but not the concept of really hiding.

I'm sensing a pattern...

Where have I been the past few months?  Well, here.  At home.  With my kids.  And my husband.  And my new small business.  Definitely not blogging.  And definitely missing this little world I love so dearly.
So, as I seem to declare every few months...I'm back!  This time I'm not going to promise much until my husband goes back to work and my life gets back to normal.  Don't get me wrong.  It's been fun being a "stay-at-home-family" while D recovers from shoulder surgery.  In fact, it's been amazing!  We have spent some wonderful days together...as a family.  And since I under-estimated how much work the Christmas season would bring me, I am truly grateful that he was home to help me with the kids while I worked into the wee hours of the morning.  It's just been "different".  When every day is Saturday, they all run together.  And after a few months, it's getting tough to be creative about what we're going to do tomorrow.
So, where do I start when trying to catch up?  I guess from the beginning.  There has been so much going on so I'm just going to dive right in like I never left.
Check back tomorrow for something new!
