The Newest {First}

With such a busy summer, we finally had a day of non-commitment.
Finally.
It seems like this summer is flying by and our weekends are spent doing everything but relaxing. So, what do we do when we have an unexpected day of nothing to do? Panic and pull out our to-do list.
We have been talking about getting M's hair cut for a while now. Ever since we noticed that the hair on the top of his head was nowhere near as long as that in the back...making for a little mullet of curls. It wasn't always noticeable {& neither was the little shaggy ends that peeked over his ears every so often} but when you did see it, well, whoa! And as much as I loved running my fingers through his little ringlets, the mullet just had to go.
So, we made a little impromptu trip up to Wilsonville to this little place called "Whipper-Snippers". It's this adorable little salon that caters to kids and has everything you can think of that might calm the jitters of a little one facing the shears for the first time. Caitlin, our stylist, was great too. She was quick and great with the kids.
Sorry about the picture overload...it was tough to choose. Enjoy!
M liked the fighter jet {plus, it was best for a squirmy guy like him}

{Before}
I wasn't kidding about the curly mullet.

{After}
much better
...and no more mullet {or curls *sigh*}

play time while little B gets a trim

B chose the pink airplane but later changed her mind and wanted the red car

besides the whining about changing chairs, she did really well

My Little Pony's helped {a TV at every station w/ a movie list to pick from - Genius!

B got to pick out a little clippy when she was done
{Um, I'll take that one. Please}

and the finishing touch? Glitter spray!

only about an inch off the ends but it makes a huge difference

and finally, time to play!

wow. you're good. i'm DREADING the first haircut. i'm hoping he'll have long, even curly blonde hair to ward off the first haircut. or i'll do it myself...who knows. i just know he'd flip if i took him somewhere.

Oh, Isaac. Would he sit still to watch a favorite cartoon? If M was into TV a little more, he might've sat the whole time instead of standing the last half. As excited as I was to reach the milestone, I dreaded it too. M is pretty chill but doesn't sit still for much. I actually tried to talk D into letting it grow out into a little curly shag but he hated the idea.

hahaha...isaac will sit still for a cartoon, but he's too aware of his surroundings and if someone is touching him that he doesn't know, he flips out! i have pretty much decided i'm going to attempt to do it myself after his 2nd birthday (which is wednesday!). i just wouldn't live it down if he had a funky do on his bday. it's looking pretty even now, but it's super long. maybe i'll buzz it if i mess up too bad.
